Basil Vasiliou

Basil Vasiliou has over 30 years experience advising in finance, distressed assets and being involved in the analysis, financing and investment in both the securities and financial obligations of real estate companies and properties, commercial and residential.

Since 1986, Mr. Vasiliou has been chairman and CEO of Vasiliou & Co., the NASDAQ listed investment firm, specialising in the analysis and management of distressed financial obligations. In 2004, he was appointed member of the Budget Advisory Committee of the City of Miami Beach in Miami, South Florida.

His prior experience includes working as a partner for ten years at Smith-Vasiliou Special Situations Fund LP., a fund dedicated to investing in non-performing bank loans. He also worked as a partner at Revere Partnership, Bear Sterns, and Merrill Lynch, and as a Vice-President of Citibank.

Mr. Vasiliou has occupied several director positions including at Pepsi Americas, Richmond Tank Car and Interco.

He was educated at Fordham University Law School, New York and received his MBA, focused in finance, from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1974.
